There's only one place on my ride I go on the sidewalk where I feel the drivers are going way too fast for me to share the road with them and there is very little space for me to ride my bike and it's a place where there are very few pedestrians.

Yeah. Because it's totally worth incarcerating millions of (mostly black and brown) people just to make sure that privileged white youth culture can still perceive itself as cool. What the fuck is this fucking article?

The selective enforcement of drug laws, which largely victimizes people of color, is a lot more problematic than the possibility of it NOT BEING COOL because it is legal

Oh hey, you found ONE person that died due to a collision with a bicycle. I guess that negates the 600 bicycle riders who die in traffic accidents every year.

I couldn't care less whether cannabis gets thoroughly appropriated and is no longer cool. You don't take it because it's cool, you take it because it feels great and has awesome health benefits. Just hurry the hell up and legalize already!

Yeah, but at worse I break someones leg and I feel really bad about that. The worse that can happen if I get hit by a car is I lose my life. And I don't trust drivers all that much.

Meanwhile, it seemsthat bicyclists wearing helmets may encourage riskier driving by motorists. Traffic psychologist Ian Walker from the University of Bath equipped a bike with a sensor to record the distance between him and passing vehicles. He took more than 2,300 measurements and found that motorists passed him more

Bike lanes don't exist in a lot of places. I'm pretty sure there are no bike lanes in my town, and there are also a lot of areas without sidewalks. There's just a line on the side of the road where you're supposed to walk. When there is a sidewalk, like I said, there's no bike lane. I'd feel a lot more comfortable

If there's a bike lane I use the bike line. If there's not then fuck pedestrians. My life > your limbs.

No one wants to ride a bike by traffic in the road. Not everyone is riding a bike to train or get to point B. People enjoy riding bikes, especially children who want to stop, look at things, and play around. Sidewalks can be shared. Or better yet, let the pedestrians use the "bike lanes." Let the pedestrians deal

Children should not be bicycling in the street. It's not even safe for adults to do so (but they get ticketed and no one gives as much of a fuck if an adult gets hit by a car trying to ride his/her bike so they do what must be done.)

Wearing helmets are great safety tools, but having actual sidewalks kids could ride on would also be outstanding. When did sidewalks start to disappear?

It's unfortunate that a lot of lower price point helmets are both terribly uncomfortable and pretty stupid looking. A decent helmet can easily start at $60 and go up from there. If you've got a lot of hair it can get even more difficult.

True enough....I think the biggest problem here is not how helmets are viewed within "biking culture" (or at least the sub-branch that kids and adolescents without cars find themselves in), but with car culture in America. We worship the damn things. Nearly all roads are designed for exclusive use by cars. Barely a

i'm over her because she doesn't give a fuck about a man raping girls. if you don't know, she's done a song with child rapist r. kelly.

she is so full of shit! I tweeted to her a day or two ago: "you wouldn't have collaborated with him (child rapist r. Kelly) if he'd raped little white girls. #solidarityisforwhitewomen #nomorals #fraud." of course, she did not respond.

why even ask? I learned ,from a recent news program, that that could be dangerous for the woman and her child. I simply give them an "aww" face and keep it moving.

NEVER EVER TOUCH A PREGNANT WOMAN'S BELLY WITHOUT ASKING

Can we have a prayer circle for reading comprehension? I didn't realize it was in such terrible shape.
Putting an actress or musician on the cover of a magazine tends to coincide with promotion for their latest project, which will usually be A list for national magazines like these. Kate Bosworth is more Parade

3 women are murdered by their boyfriends/husbands each day in America. I hate it when americans think that America is such a great country in comparison to other countries i.e. countries where people of color live.
