pH is actually an exponential scale, so a pH of 1.0 (battery acid) is 10 times as acidic as a pH of 2.0 (Nerds, according to this chart.) The sourest candy on this chart, at a pH of 1.6, is 4 times less acidic than battery acid. So, the statement "almost as bad as battery acid" isn't quite accurate.
