We do not have the technology to do so. We have ideas how we can push ourselves to a fraction of the speed of light. Say 7%, maybe using nuclear power or antimatter. We’ll never reach the speed of light. Nothing but light and sound will.

No, people will just find a way to accept both facts. I’m not religious, never have been, but I don’t agree with the idea of science having a purpose of disproving God’s existence. Let people believe what they want. This world is big enough for both beliefs.
