Helen's moral struggle was palpable during her closing statement to the jury: Those long pauses with the knife in her hand, as she again and again decided to continue convincing the jury of things she knew now were likely not true.

Erik, your reviews are always top-notch. You always manage to draw a through-line through the episode that I can sense, but cannot articulate.

"Too dense for me to wrap my head around" is exactly my review of HUWD, but this one is scaled back just enough for me to enjoy.

I love the song. It's a near-perfect homage to "Love's Theme" by Barry White and the Love Unlimited Orchestra, in my opinion: https://youtu.be/8YS7sWCG_ZE

Some, I assume, are good people (Bloodline).

Thanks for reminding me about Spider-Man 3, Internet!

There have been some tremendous first seasons lately (Fargo, Better Call Saul, The Knick, etc.)… But this one takes the cake, in my opinion.

All I know is this: it'll be hard to go back to boring, traditionally-framed, normal-amount-of-headroom TV for the next ten months.

If Scott and Scott are onboard, I'll be there.

"…a bunch of Strokes, Interpol, Franz Ferdinand, Death Cab For Cutie, and Coldplay CDs."

Between the cold open and the final moments with Mr. Robot at his gravesite, we were given such a rich picture of that father-son relationship. What a beautiful thing. Mr. Robot's warm words to his child right before Angela and Darlene arrived nearly made me weep.

Tucci's 12-hour timeline, at least, is meant to be a question mark. An officer makes mention of it during the autopsy and he dodges the question.

But I already paid for the full comment on iTunes!!

Between the film industry (Harry Potter, Hunger Games, etc.) and the TV industry (every single AMC show), this is the hottest trend that nobody likes.

This headline looks more like it belongs on ClickHole than AVC.

Fun musical note: the final piece of Cliff Martinez's wonderful score that we hear this season is called "Will It Hurt", which is fitting, as Thack's rehab doctor is discussing the treatment.

I suspect that the Ted Jr. material this week is setting up for some devastatingly good TV involving Tawney in the coming weeks. Really, I'm looking forward to ANY sequences involving Teddy and/or Tawney and Daniel.

Even in a television era in which "gray area" and moral ambiguity is becoming the norm, I find myself amazed at how well written and realized Ted Jr. is. A lesser show would make him into the Obvious Jealous Scumbag character, but Rectify doesn't bite. I think he is jealous, and I think he is a little bit of a

If that final scene was Kerwin's send-off in Daniel's mind, then I'll take it. That was the most gut-wrenchingly beautiful thing I've seen on television in a long, long while. Johnny Ray Gill ripped my heart from my chest.

His analysis and critique of season 2 is almost exactly the same as mine, which is strangely comforting.
