Sounds like this buyer places a premium on avoiding “the Asians” and instead going with the Europeans.

Yeah this sounds like complete marketing BS to try and convince everyone that the cars are “totally different, yo!” despite them being the same car. Maybe this particular guy didn’t talk to BMW over that span of time but it’s incredibly unlikely that you’d go and build this car with BMW and all BMW parts without ever…
So you would rather have an inferior car with horrible reliability just to get a useless trip to Europe. Why not enjoy your car in America where the the streets are huge and traffic is less congested?
People said the exact same thing about Lexus. It now outsells Audi and matches BMW at the same price points.
BMW, as well as the other Germans, are notoriously bad when it comes to depreciation.
This is a commonly used argument, but the very reason Hyundai created the Genesis brand is to combat depreciation. Also, the difference is unlikely to make up for the price gap between brands.
I thought the “Air BnB” comment was far better.
Those were very close to production prototypes, too. I just believe that Toyota is really over hyping their involvement in the project just like how they're making all of their designs über aggressive after years of people shitting on them for being too conservative.
See, Toyota wanted to abort but BMW wanted to keep it and you know how the saying goes “My Factory, my choice”
That, and there is WAY too much money on the line for both companies for them to just be like “fuck it, the other guy can do whatever”.
Yeah, calling complete horseshit on that.
Bull. To engineer a vehicle that will share hard points or be produced on the same line requires an insanely detailed level of communication.
It truly is the least interesting engine family to choose from...
I know, it’s great that these LS engines find themselves in so many different applications. Thank you for listing them out, although there are plenty more!
Great, another RB26DETT swap.
Hating on LS swaps are the Meh Car Mondays of automotive takes
This is a shit take.
Wellcome to Clickbaitnik
The headline is a bit misleading—the plane doesn’t belong to Burning Man. As you wrote, the plane “is the responsibility of a non-profit organization called Big Imagination.” Burning Man itself didn’t break the Leave No Trace rule—Big Imagination did.
Air BNB.
