i happily have no idea what Modern Romance is when capitalized.
i'm interested to know - do you enjoy other louie ck work? e.g. baskets, louie(tv series), his standup?
one intentional creative choice that really worked was the absence of a framing device for the sexual fantasy. incidentally, i could watch jessica lange try to seduce someone for hours (and collectively i probably have, come to think of it).
ha thank you so much for sharing that
I am so very excited.
They ARE doing a lot with a hackneyed premise, and that - along with the credibility I lend to the creators, actors, writers - leads me to believe that we might have no idea where they're going with all of this. It feels kind of wrong to grade the first season of a series. For more on the subject, see the Bob's…
See Babe Manor's broken Arcade Game with a roll of toiler paper held by the joystick & "GAME OVER" spray-painted over the unpowered screen. This and some other stray set-design observations upheld the Philly simulacrum enough for me to accept the premise and enjoy the episode and even perhaps to look forward to more…
The foley in the cold open is demonstrative of how Sunny has evolved in its use of sound to create &or enhance comedy, a phenomenon interesting to track after the death of studio audience / multi-camera / canned laughter.
Things of which the internet needs more:
I definitely actually slapped my knee, so thanks for making me feel better about that.
it doesn't seem fair for us to grade these until next week. i have no idea what they're planning, but i've a great deal of faith in Cross.. i'm hoping that this is why we've such a low turnout in discussion and rating, as i'd much prefer to live in a world where everyone and their mothers is a huge fan of Todd…

The math would suggest that on some timelines not only did Serling write this arc, he also voiced the anchor in place of Hader.
South Park is the only source of big-picture status accuracy I really trust anymore. They're not WGA, they're not MPAA, they're not even AV Club. No offense to AVC - & I love this week's review by the by Caffry. But in that spirit of trust I'm going to forego speculation and assume - and come on, probably correctly -…
interesting - two years ago did end with bill gates murdering someone!
The first paragraph of this review reads as sponsored content for Drfat Knigs, as does every mention of it in the episode/season. The only piece of American television so far this week deserving of praise is tonight's South Park. Look at how AV Club reviewed it last week, and note that although this review for The…
I saw this episode before I knew about Birdman & thought the episode should win an emmy. After I saw Birdman I still appreciate the episode as much as the homage is extremely effective.
When I post a link to this article on my facebook log, I think of it as Sponsored Content even while I'm writing up the post - I always have - for it is primarily my interest in the livelihood of South Park & The AV Club (among other things) that drives me to share.
An Audio Note: South Park's use of music has evolved stunningly over the past several seasons. The original score underneath the scene in which PC Principal is looking at the Ad featuring himself & Leslie enhances both the comedic value of the dialogue and the increasing gravity of the story simultaneously.
