I don’t remember if at the time I was speculating to myself about her becoming a companion, but I was totally sure she’d be a regular. I was blown away, too, when she got the axe.

The complaining began immediately, but it takes five minutes to reach you through the internet due to the finiteness of the speed of light. Just as when you look up in the sky, you’re looking at the stars as they existed billions of years ago, when you read an internet forum, you are looking at complaints as they…
Yay, I loved Osgood! Future companion material?
Good comment, probably gets across better what I tried to say in mine. You touched upon one of my hobby horses, that the speed of light—even with its attendant caveat specifying vacuum propagation—is a kinda misleading phrase since it gives the impression that the theory has something central to do with light, whereas…
One thing that often gets overlooked in these discussions is the nature of this speed limit in relativity. It’s not the case that there is just some rule that says “oh btw, no going faster than light in a vacuum, guys” that could just turn out to be wrong without really mucking up the rest of it. The speed limit is…
That bit was so funny, I had to re watch it a couple times. The looks on both their faces were priceless.
Not a Batman comics guru so I ask: which death is non-canon? Maroni?
In my math classes, at least, “foci” was the plural of “focus”. Are you saying it’s different for the car since that’s a proper noun?
Interpretation of QM is basically the most fascinating and confusing thing I’ve ever thought about. BTW, for what it’s worth I’m more of a many-worlds guy; it’s the only picture which seems consistent to me. I think this article sums up my take on it pretty well.
If you are referring to the comments on quantum mechanics, that kind of stuff is usually called the “interpretation of quantum mechanics” since everyone pretty much agrees on the equations but there is a lot of debate on what they really mean from a philosophical point of view. You could start reading with this…
Yeah, I see your point there. The American involvement in WWII is definitely broadly considered in the US as a just and necessary action, without the debate that surrounds most every other conflict. Painting it as absurd really labels all war as absurd, even the “just” ones.
I think Holmes is best in the original setting. London is practically a character itself in those stories.
I don’t know. It’s just about the absurdity of war, right? That transcends a specific conflict.
The Nazis aren’t horses, they’re asses. (Couldn’t help it.)
I’ll be at a wedding tomorrow so won’t be able to grab anything. Hopefully stuff will be released digitally.
“Horse Storm” would make an awesome video game title. Some kind of alternate history where a band of horse commandos fight Nazis.
Go, resonance, go.
I’m awful at getting to movies while they’re in the theatre, usually wait for the digital release. I might have to make an exception for this one, though, especially if it is a big deal for Agents of SHIELD. I realize we haven’t had a post-Ultron AoS yet, but does anyone know if not seeing this flick now will diminish…
Firstly, I’d say that the Information Age is the Infrastructure Age, or at least a major component. The Internet is the infrastructure that lets physically separated digital components talk to each other. That infrastructure is what gives the oomph to a lot of our information devices.
There’s a lot of people deceiving their allies for no real reason. Some of the mistrust is warranted but a lot of it is just in service to the plot.
