My first car was a 1986.5 model, white 2.0 hatchback. And I miss it regularly. It was 12 years old, beat to shit but it looked great, ran reliably and was an excellent learner’s car. I’d buy one again if I could.

Considering I stole it to try and run away from home at 15, I’m not entirely sure this counts, but if so it would be my father’s 1984 Mercury Grand Marquis.

This whole tiff comes across to me as entitled and snotty Silicon Valley whining. “Moooooooom, Consumer Reports didn’t tell me I was a perfect special snowflake! They need to tell me that so my valuation lets me burn billions not making a profit for the foreseeable future!”

You know what’s better than that? One of those super fast document scanners that you see in doctor’s offices. I got a Canon version of that thing a few weeks ago and it is amazing. $120 used on eBay.

Replying to an ad post feels really weird, but I feel like I should go on record saying this printer is solid. With the exception of a $35 Canon printer I got thanks to a crazy sale at my going-out-of-business Staples, Brother has made the best printers I’ve bought for personal and business uses. I had one of these

I’m sorry to report that the true best answer is a second or third gen Prius.

Ugh, this post is so depressing. Why? Because your lead image dragged this up from my memory. Anyone that recognizes it is now seriously bummed.

I’m a white bi male that’s been in a committed relationship with my boyfriend for sixteen years and this story is definitely one that I can empathize with. Last August I had a long brewing breakdown due to a number of this that had caused my depression to get progressively worse, which culminated in an absolutely

That picture is from when I first got it, but my friend was an inattentive clutz so he tore the fabric covering over the rubber door seals with his belt or something. He also left the sunroof open without moving the mechanism for months at a time, and so it seized up and can only tilt open on one side. He never bought

The manifold is a funky one, but it is indeed a standard non-transverse V8.

I dunno, $50,000 in 1990's money isn’t that budget.

The first gen Q45 was really built as a driver’s car, they softened it up in 1994, but not so much that they took away the fun of that “278" horsepower RWD configuration.

It’s good enough plastic stuff that you’d have a tough time telling it from the real leather that’s all over the rest of the car.

Yep, on all the 1990-1993 models, those plastic guides were a death sentence.

They really fixed most of those cosmetic issues with the refresh in 1994, and one of the things they changed was to make it more like a traditional luxury car. The first few years had much firmer seats, and a more aggressive transmission.

My second car was a 1991 929S, the model just before that one. My third car was 1997 Milennia S, which was followed by a Q45.

Have one. Love it. Loved it more before a former friend trashed it while planning to buy it, but that’s the risk you take.

Actually, no. The FAA rule is that you need to notify the airport’s operator and tower (if there is one) if you want to fly within 5 miles of an airport, to tell them where you want to fly, how high, and how long, so air traffic control can give you a go-ahead or a no-go.

They’re fairly accurate as basic tests to get the initial idea of quality, but before you buy any kind of treatment system get the water to a certified independent laboratory first. If the results they get are close to the treatment company’s claims, that’s a sign that they’re probably on the up and up.
