I was highly amused at that, there were so many Santa Fe models in that show it felt like one long ad. But I had to laugh when the rental they had in the section in China was super base.

After 20+ years of building PCs, I think I’m increasingly convinced that the fear of static electricity is a prank being pulled on people by someone from the 1980's. I’ve never used a wrist strap, and never seen a computer that was damaged during the build process by static.
Ripped out the steering column and wheel from my ‘84 Dodge B250 van and replaced it with one from a newer model minivan. 90% the same part, but about 90% less slop.
Ha, nope. This is from back when the idea of a limited nuclear war was a more common concern. It’s got fallout patterns, protective measures, information about all kinds of interesting but terrifying after effects of a nuclear detonation. Even some transparencies to be used with an overhead projector on top of a map!
Sorry for the tangent, but I’m just checking in to say the brutalist design of that courthouse is fucking amazing.
Putting aside whether or not it’s possible for a Kinja post to instigate a cold war, or even accelerate or remotely impact one (it’s not) I think it’s pretty clear we’ve been in something just a bit warmer than the cold war was for the past few years now. Putin’s made sure of that, now that his neighbors want in on…
I can’t deny the beauty of a good twin turbo, though the long ailing 300ZX TT in my garage has certainly soured me on them a bit.
Those wouldn’t have worked for me, unfortunately, even if I were a smaller person. I also have a hard time thinking of anything smaller than an Outback as an actual wagon, too. I think that’s because I grew up in a family that always had *real* wagons, the big land yachts of the 60's and 70's that I wish someone would…
A handgun is designed to send high-velocity projectiles toward an object placed in front of it.
I’ll say it, then. Shooting would be a lot easier and more fun if I didn’t have to wear heavy, bulky earmuffs in order to protect my ears and could get the same protection with in-ear or thinner profiled muffs. They screw up what remains of my hair and make it difficult for me to line up for a sight picture through…
If a gun was only intended to kill people, that’s all they’d be used for. Either that, or maybe people have just surprised you by being capable of owning a lethal weapon that they don’t all want to run out and use. Funny thing, that.
Yours might be fastest, but you’re still the guy that had to deal with “Oh, wow. Sometime actually bought one of those ugly things?” ;)
Alcohol is made to impair a person’s judgement, and can’t be used for any other purpose than that. Medical applications of alcohol use an undrinkable form of it, so there isn’t even a good exception there. Guns are tools, with a variety of uses for sport that have nothing to do with taking lives while tobacco and…
Having been in situations where less than a foot came between me and some jackass cutting in front of me in traffic or trying to brake-merge into my lane right off my nose, I’d prefer the CX-5 or my Santa Fe Sport, but it is probably fairly close.
When we bought our Hyundai from a decent dealer, we didn’t try and beat them up on the price at all. We beat them up a little on the interest rate, and we were careful to make sure all our i’s were dotted, but we know full well that the guy needs to make a buck, too. We didn’t go in with expectations of ripping anyone…
The problem I see is that ear protection is really not good enough, though. It’s effective to one degree, but it could be a hell of a lot better. My real problem with ear protection alone is that if you reduce enough sound to protect your ears 100%, you’re also going to have a hard time paying attention to your…
This is true. But then they’d also all be buying more machine guns, and just ugh. I’m no fan of legalizing *more* machine guns, not at all. But I don’t have a problem with suppressors.
Statistically speaking, no they are not.
No, I’m saying it’s necessary because the combination of hearing protection and suppressors will protect hearing. What I’m also saying is that if people are afraid of “silent” guns I already know of one entirely legal combination of parts and ammo to do that. And suppressors won’t muffle sounds nearly that well.
