Im rushed so I didn’t read your whole article, but my simple answer to the headline question is this: he’s doing what the US should’ve done a long time ago.

So basically, you’re saying a mix of the aesthetics you want, the comfort you want, the customizability, and resale value do it for ya, and the performance is good enough to not get in the way. That’s actually helpful, and the customization options was one I was totally missing until now. T

I used to hate Harley’s, for the same reasons everyone mentions, they aren’t fast, the don’t handle particularly well and in general the culture around them isn’t all that...appealing, but when it came time to buy a more reliable bike than my 82 XJ750, my dad somehow convinced me to buy the Sportster. Out of ~100 comments thusfar, I saw two that made a quasi-rational case for the Harley. And even those weren’t very compelling. I think that gives you the answer you’re looking for: there is no justifiable reason for buying this bike.

He’s dead on. It’s amazing (not really) how difficult it is for the media to report simple bs like a meme accurately. It’s perfectly reasonable to compare extremist Muslims to Nazis. Is it a dumb meme? Of course. Is Schilling dumb for tweeting that crap and not expecting outrage? Yes. Is what he said racist? Fuck no.

Personally, I think the worm looks classic and timeless, while the meatball looks outdated. I’m sad they decided to try to bring it back.
