The original commenter never said that it's a silver bullet. But it would likely reduce the number of rapes. And there are lots of things that can be discouraged with a combination of education and enforcement. Your comment sounds like, "people will still be raped, so that idea is dumb".

That's just silly. There are serious and painful consequences for DUI (even besides the human costs) that dissuade many people from getting behind the wheel when they're drunk. Serious and painful consequences for sexual assault would likely do the same, even with drunk people.

You're a fucking shitbag.

White guys make most of the movies nowadays that get big financial backing, which is basically a must for Oscar nominations.

It's always great to see dipshit white people telling people of color when they're being condescended to.

Life Itself wasn't nominated for Best Documentary Feature, which stunned me.

Dear god.

Yeah, Force Majeure and Two Days, One Night are damn good too. I kind of wish the Academy would drop the Foreign Language and Best Animated Feature categories. It's an excuse not to nominate either for Best Picture.

Its Los Angeles and New York runs were in April of 2014, which makes it a 2014 release by Academy eligibility rules. Its 2013 release was only festivals (Telluride, Venice, TIFF, London) and don't count by Academy rules.

1. Ugghhhhh to Steve Carell (the performance, not the man). Him getting a nom over Jake Gyllenhaal is outrageous.

Oh, he annoyed the shit out of me, too. But he was so fascinating. And "here's a piece of paper with some staples in it" is fucking hilarious.

Things I'm mad (either probably or definitely) aren't going to go the way I want them:

Not a chance, probably, but she deserves it.

That score is fantastic.

As far as I know, nobody knows when the test was administered. A local radio host here in Portland played at BYU and said that it's possible he was tested even a couple months ago.

I really doubt that, though, because Chip Kelly really doesn't want to do anything but be a football coach. He hated recruiting (one of the big reasons why Oregon may get even better going forward; Helfrich loves recruiting), and he's the kind of guy who spends his evenings watching game film no matter where he's

Skip Rogue; their beer is shit. It's what people who love McMenamin's drink when there's no McMenamin's in their town.
