Your right you can get them much cheaper than $1.50 per pod especially is you buy them in bulk. I can’t see any other real problem after that just benefits.

I have a nexus 5 also and I use PocketCast I love it. But if you don't want to pay for an app the second best app I can suggest is Podbay it does have a few quirks but its better than stitcher by a wide margin.
