I enjoyed the hell out of "VARGR". It's just my local comic shop stopped holding it for me, and I never went back.

I think I'm going to try and pick up the trades.

Great comparison! I wouldn't mind Brad Bird taking another stab or even J.J returning. But, I'm of the mindset that Christopher McQuarrie and Tom Cruise need to be a permanent collaboration.

Power to the people..we did it.

Exactly. And even if I didn't know that, I still wouldn't subscribe to the code name theory.

The villains were somewhat of a let down, especially after the nifty opening in the record store.

I don't praise Jack Lord enough, because I did like his interpretation.

It was established that it wasn't a code name. Roger Moore is at Tracy's grave at the beginning of "For Eyes Only". Felix Leiter mentions that Bond was married once in "Licence to Kill", but then says that Bond doesn't talk about it.

It warms my heart to see Bond finally get covered. "Casino Royale" is an undisputed masterpiece. A high-point in the Bond series.

Empty stomach masterpiece, check.

If "Casino Royale" wasn't released in 2006, in your opinion which film gets the nod?

I've already admitted to having not seen "Children of Men" in the comments, now I'm going to admit to never seeing "Apocalypto".

I knew about the Bond ones (I was collecting "VARGR" until my local comics shop, stopped calling me. I used to put the issues on hold).

I'm very grateful.

Did not know that. You see that's something I can handle. Even novels, but no films.
How old is this comic series?

It is indeed.

I agree. I think it was the Jack Lord situation (I think he asked to be billed behind Connery).
The films haven't Felix Leiter justice, but I think the closest has been David Hedison, though I prefer Jeffery Wright.

I can't wait to read it.

Oh, Joe Don Baker no doubt.

I don't know if it's been asked around these parts, but who's the best Felix Leiter?
