Gave "Patriot Games" a rewatch months ago on Epix. I enjoyed it a lot more and appreciate it more. The fact that a major studio franchise went from PG (Red October) to R is pretty gutsy.

It feels "Die Hard" to me as well. The divisiveness is just something I've seen.
Jeremy Irons is amazing in this.
There were some comments in the past (on this very site) that were negative towards "Die Hard With a Vengeance". That's what I was referring to.
I will never understand the vitriol for "Die Hard with a Vengeance". I like "Die Hard 2" for what it is, but it just feels bland and uninspired as opposed to DHWAV, which is a pure adrenaline rush. Nearly every set piece is flawless and it moves at a quicker pace.
I love the lens flare in this film. A few other John McTiernan films (The Hunt for Red October and Last Action Hero come to mind) also use it pretty nicely.
He was the cop in the original Hitcher.
He was not in Die Hard.
I read that audiences starting laughing at the trailer, when it would play during other films. Fox apparently went into panic mode after hearing that. One of my favorite stories.
I think you're referring to Jeffrey DeMunn. I don't think that's him.
From what I read, that was the first word that popped into Costner's mind. He didn't know she was going to feel that way about it. Costner also noted that he was still a fan of hers and took his daughters to see her in concert. There he was in the audience and she apologized to him. He had no clue that she was going…
The early year dumping ground. I thought it was unusual that Sony picked an early year date. The one thing that no one seems to be talking about is the MPAA rating. What will it be? I know Stephen King has always wanted an R-rating.
"A Perfect World"….so underrated. Costner plays a criminal with such depth, that you feel so much sympathy for him.
I agree. And with the plans Sony has for this series, it should be in a plum summer release date. It wasn't bred for winter, it was bred for summer.
I pretty much agree with you, Chuck.
When I worked for Circuit City ten years ago, the idiot prick who ran the store told me he was a Buccaneers fan. My reaction echoed yours.
As a Broncos fan, the "Ambush at Mile High" used to bother me. But, we got three Super Bowl championships, so I'm over it.
You hit the nail on the head with Sean Penn. The El Chapo and Hugo Chavez connections sicken me. I always thought he was full of shit.
I remember the release date controversy. It was released during the summer (June 3rd, 2005 per IMDB). The fact that a film clearly meant for awards season, being released during summer left folks scratching their heads. I also believe Russell Crowe's phone throwing incident took place days before the release. I think…
RAW is just bland. I have no excitement to even DVR or watch it live. SmackDown! makes me excited every week. Even a lesser episode is still miles ahead of RAW.
I saw "Urban Legend" in theaters when it came out. I expected two things in the opening: a.) Brad Dourif was trying to help the driver or b.) He was putting on a facade and was going to attack her.
