Like all of you, I watched Game Of Thrones and Mad Men, so I'll just say those were both good. In slightly less populist news, I watched the documentary El Bulli: Cooking In Progress, which is about the Spanish restaurant that many people who care about such things consider the greatest in the world. I found it solid,

You are so very wrong, sir. They did Minneapolis on April 13, then headed up to the great white north after.

By saying "John's NA sponsor" so casually, you are dismissing D'ANGELO MUTHAFUCKING BARKSDALE!

That's what I'm saying—why bother so clearly showing that he had two separate guns if he's no planning to do something with both of them?

Only 16 comments so far? All 16 of you need to tell 16 friends, who must each tell 16 friends, to start watching this show. A couple of thoughts from me:

Then I thank you. The world loves you and is your bitch.

I could see it both ways, Hot Rod, but ultimately I agree with you. I tried to get the director on the phone for an interview specifically about the ending, but he apparently didn't want to talk about it, so maybe he likes both readings.

They were apparently a Target exclusive. I saw them on super sale there recently, but resisted the urge to buy more.

As some of you already noticed, we basically started a thread to talk about what you did this weekend. It's in the main feature roll, called "Tell us about your pop-culture weekend." We'll probably do this every week, in case you want to migrate those discussions there. Or keep having 'em here. Your call, people!

Re: American Tabloid—the second one's actually better, the third one not quite as good. But all definitely worth reading. When are they gonna finally turn that into an HBO series?

Okay, I'll start (and add an image above). I saw '90s don't-call-them-emo kingpins The Promise Ring play their first shows since 2005. I'm a longtime fan (and full disclosure, friend) of the band, so these three shows—a warm-up gig at Turner Hall in Milwaukee, then regular shows at Turner on Friday and Metro in

It's actually a pretty obscure Scharpling & Wurster reference. Who can name it, nerds?

I don't think so, but you could be right. I think R. Kelly might be last. Or Suicidal Tendencies. But you never know, that's the beauty of it.

Either one, band's choice.

Y'know, it was on the short list, but I want to try and avoid "clever" covers of hip-hop songs. Irony is a dead scene!

I totally missed that. Glad you guys caught it. Maybe that's our serialized story for the season?

I felt like I was watching two different movies, one that was really thoughtful and interesting and "realistic" (starring Tilda Swinton), and then an over-the-top horror movie starring the kid. I thought parts were great, and I'd recommend seeing Kevin, but I don't think it was really successful overall.

He was trying to say that the people who approach him about Scary Movie 2 are disproportionately Puerto Rican or Dominican. I didn't see it as any sort of judgment call. Also, I think you're spot on with the humility thing above. Guy's a comedian, people. Let America laugh!

There will be a bonus 11th track that's going to blow your mind. First week of January.

All me, Bob.
