Live At Massey Hall
Man, I am blown completely away by the Live At Massey Hall disc. So incredible. This disc, though I've only listened through about 1.5 times, has thus far left me cold. But it's Neil, so I'll give him a chance, of course.

hey all
I appreciate all the comments, positive and negative. This was certainly a tough one to grade (I wasn't shocked that Pitchfork decided not to grade it at all). I realize that saying these four albums (and The Eraser, which is mentioned) are "of a piece" sounds negative and probably seems way off base to

wrong clip
Wrong clip (obviously, but maybe not obviously)! Should be fixed in seconds.

Hey Juiced
That's a great idea; I wonder if we could come up with enough to populate a whole Inventory. I'd definitely put Rollins' role in Heat above The Chase, though. He gets beat up by Al Pacino, which is pretty amazing. And does a really good job following this direction: "Hank, stand there and try to look

Another strike against Burt…
Supposedly — and maybe this is Hollywood lore, but it was widely reported — Burt fired his agent after seeing a screening of Boogie Nights, because he thought it was so bad. He apparently changed his tune when people started talking Oscar for him. And no, he doesn't hold a candle to

you know what was goddam hilarious, though?
Chief Wiggum reading the chapter titles from The Negotiator. That made me laugh out loud.

letter grades are tough
I saw Control earlier in the week, and for the most part I agree with Scott's assessment — but this is an extremely tough movie to assign a letter grade. It's gorgeous, engaging, well-acted (Samantha Morton was amazing, as always, not just "extra dowdy"), and ultimately sort of emotionally

All I can say is…
Yo, ding-dong man, ding-dong, ding-dong, yo.

Hey Number Two
I don't know if you're just trolling now or if you're a tiny bit serious, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Reread the post. We'd love to have reasoned conversations all the time, but we know that's not going to happen. Tons of inane, pointless, mean, wrong, and ridiculous posts will never be

that wacky zodiac
I haven't deleted any of Zodiac Motherfucker's posts. Definitely not today, and not that I can remember. I don't think he generally fits into those very narrow criteria set forth above. The all-caps is a little annoying, and clearly he's just trying to stir shit up and/or be funny (and sometimes it

hey noodle
I wasn't sure what to do with that. Almost didn't delete it. Couldn't decide whether it would do more harm (responses, like yours and mine) or good. Who knows. It just makes me scratch my head in wonder: Who would bother posting "delete this comment," and why? Is there a point?

We thought about that…
But adding a name to every reaction would get even messier than those quotes already are! In this case, it was me, Kyle Ryan, Genevieve Koski, Phipps, Tobias, Rabin, new Chicago guy David Wolinsky, and possibly even some lucky business types who wandered through our area. All Chicago, though —

Yes, yes it will.
"Oh well, I guess my pie-in-the-sky dream of abolishing the n-word taboo and living in a glorious linguistic utopia will have to take place on some other internet message board."

Time…
Hey Robonixon,

Alan, you're gonna feel awesome
When you see tomorrow's main feature.

see, now…
I know you're joking. And as a person with a small percentage of Polish blood, I giggled and remained unoffended. Context, man, context.

Sorry Joe
Sorry Joe, it just fell on the wrong side of that line for me. I'm glad to know that your intentions weren't malicious, but it wasn't clear to me (or other people) earlier.

more thoughts
Hey ya'll,

What fun we're having!
Hopefully what you see above will give a good idea of what we're okay with. And I'm happy to say that I only deleted a couple of comments, and those were by blatant trolls. Thanks for all of the positive feedback (and negative, too — we're totally Jesus-like!). To reiterate:

Steven Hyden
That's fixed now, thanks for the heads-up.
