Govt drone here: I work for a govt science org, in a relatively small unit (>20 people), and we have 4 positions we cannot fill because of the hiring freeze. This has slowed not only our units work to a crawl, it has also impacted units that coordinate with us due to inability to meet timelines. We’re doing the best

Fixing anything that breaks on this car (and it will break something in the first year guaranteed) is going to be expensive, even if you do the wrenching yourself. Finally had to let my E34 go when getting a part I needed would have involved way too much sleuthing, time, and money.

Way overpriced, and even as clean as this car is, one impossible to find part failing on you and your 6.5k classic is now months of searching and $3k worth of parts and labor from running again. *Source: owned an E34 for a decade

Seems about right...The females always get boned when it comes to mating.

There is always the vasectomy/vasovectomy route...Had an acquaintance in college who had one too many pregnancy scares, had a vasectomy done, and recently popped up on Facebook as being a new father.

When the variables are controlled to where they are as similar as possible on an individual basis, there is a statistically insignificant pay gap between men and women. And it is likely part of this remaining “pay gap” is explained by less time spent at work during child rearing years by women vs men.

Depending on what the CEL (cold start issues) ends up being it could be a NP at around 4k or a complete CP. Too many unknowns for me to be a buyer at any price. If the seller sorted out the issues, I’d pay 4.5k for a reasonably kitted subbie with awful paint (and probably hidden rust issues).

Trick question, there is no measurable amount of real chicken in mcnuggets. Probably about 10 nuggets worth of chicken parts on that cock after they bleach it and grind it into a paste.

“More people die from taking NSAIDS than die from taking opiates”*

One huge problem is the over-prescribing of opioid painkillers by docs. I have been to the ER a couple times in the past decade for relatively minor injuries. Every time I have been offered opioid painkillers and had to insist on prescription strength ibuprofin instead. If docs were less quick to prescribe these meds

I have separate a press for each, but yes the French press is wonderful for steeping loose-leaf. Would recommend.

I am vehemently against “natural remedy” purveyors/witch doctors, but also vehemently against the ability for people to freely search for information on the internet. If you’re dumb enough to follow internet quackery for serious diseases then you’re dumb enough to suffer the consequences.

Does this study look at salary per comparable career or is it simply looking at avg wage of all men vs avg wage of all men? One of those will have a drastically different (and statistically irrelevant) gap than the other. Last decent study I saw which compared among similar career, education level, experience, etc.

Investigative journalists who actually source and check the facts behind a story before publishing are heroes. Sadly, with our 24 hr news cycle and race to be the first to publish breaking news, it seems the great investigative journalists are going the way of the dodo.

The problem being the majority of the worst science denying Congress critters are in states/districts where scientific principles run counter to the majority of the constituents world view ie it will be difficult to run and win on a pro-science platform in large swaths of the US.

1. Vaccines are demonstratively “safe” and as close to “proven” to be effective as science allows.

Even pilot whales don’t want to live in a world where The Donald is president of the US.

Maybe it’s just me, but sexual chemistry is a huge component of an enjoyable relationship, at least to me. Disappointing sex life leads to resentment leads to fights leads to breakups/finding sexual satisfaction outside the relationship. Why would you get married, which is allegedly a lifelong thing (lol), without
