Fair point on the grass. I would argue, though, that there’s an inherent disrespect in failing to properly consider all circumstances when making decisions for USSF’s top product, particularly when those incorrect assumptions have been made repeatedly.

This is interesting because these sorts of high-paid struggling vet vs. promising young player close position battles always end with the vet winning out out of deference to track record (and large contract salvagability).
