My wife’s Golf TDI is getting free dirty scammin’ money. I already bought her the replacement:
Good point.
I don’t understand
Ugh indeed. Think about the yachts you’d be living on with the appreciation of that 550. I can’t wait until the age demographic of wealth gets old enough and people stop enjoying manual transmission oddball ‘90s Ferraris so I can fill my garage with stuff that exclusively needs “engine out” service visits for…
Doug,
You know what they say about guys with big shoes.

Sweet.
I believe it’s still a factory option but not standard equipment.
The thing is, it isn’t really advances in engine technology driving manufacturers to smaller displacement turbo motors, it’s the EPA. Naturally aspirated motors tend to still produce some of the most insane results with the best throttle response and best noise still (ie: Huracan/Aventador, F12 Berlinetta, 911 GT3 /…
Been considering that. Depends on what price I can get now.
Looks like Florida to me. Who likes felonies?
SO MUCH BETTER. Hate the turbocharged 911 exhaust notes so much. Negotiating on a 991 GT3 right now solely so I can listen to this every day IRL.
Not a big Land Rover guy, but I’ve gotta agree. That’s why my wife has a 2014 G550 instead.
Agree, I have an Audi A7, a Mercedes G550, and a Corvette Stingray all with factory LED and they’re all great compared to conventional headlights. My wife’s Golf TDI feels like driving with daytime running lights on comparatively.
I would say e36/e46 M3 but European is ruled out, so there’s that.
I’d drive this thing flat out, but I also have accomplished pretty much everything I was looking to accomplish in life, so I may as well find out what a jersey barrier looks like at 140mph.
I recently got my wife a 2014 Mercedes G550 which has many of the same handling attributes and deficiencies as stated here, but is so much fucking cooler than it doesn’t even matter. This is just a really ugly, shitty version of a G Wagen in my opinion. If you want a bloaty luxury SUV with off-road pretext that is so…
Five minutes per vehicle? Some better tooling could get them in and out much more quickly than that.
