I'd argue that the upmarket luxury SUV may be more difficult but a mall crawler crossover might be much easier. It's hard to argue that the GLA or Q3 are really anything to write home about.

I hate that the market doesn't want that, but I agree. Make a modern version of an old Wrangler. Put some luxo-trims on it with stupid street tires for white girls to drive to the mall. Call it tough. Pitch it as a mini-G Wagen with British engineering. Source a Toyota motor because Lotus so it actually runs sometimes.

Haha, I run a business and this is how things just are sometimes. In order to do the stuff you want to do or like doing, you need to do ten things you hate. I respect it.

No, but I will surely drive the Exige S that has those things.

I, for one, completely back Lotus building an SUV. Is anyone REALLY pissed that Porsche built Cayennes which thus enabled things like the Cayman GT4? I'm not. If America gets an Exige S again because we need to see Lotus built a CROSSTREKSUV who cares.

They look nearly the same, but I prefer the old one. Still a great looking car either way though.

And sweet lord, the turn in. Completely on throttle, downhill and zero plow from either the driver or the car. I've been considering getting a Cayman or a C7 as a track car, but this video is swaying me hard.

Sorry that I hurt your feelings by having more money than you. Yes, I am a total asshole and all of your assumptions are right.

In fairness, I think that this site generally does a good job of covering more average cars (example: see the massive amount of coverage of the Focus RS) while still covering halo cars and higher end vehicles. I would agree in general that the average readership cannot afford six figure vehicles on here - but I

I make roughly enough income to purchase a V8 R8 in cash new every 3-4 months after I get done paying taxes - and I agree with the other poster that you sound like someone pissed off about people being successful. Just sayin'.

Wouldn't one argue that the sedan platform is globally doomed anyway? With the relentless push for fuel economy, the rest of the world has already moved to using more compact vehicles with larger storage spaces like wagons and hatches as a whole. America loves trucks and wagons and hatches with lift kits so they can

I say this in the context of a 458 Italia at least once weekly. It's all relative.

I actually personally know of people who have had trouble with the new 2.0L from Subaru also and have had motors replaced. Talking more like 15-20k instead of every time you turn the damn thing on, but still.

It's adorable when the coastal Northeast cities shut down their roads for <2 feet of snow.

That's my fault for typing quickly and forgetting that German nomenclature is all but an afterthought.

I get the feels that the majority of the German luxury manufacturers are slowly starting to go the way of Cadillac in the 70's. Trying to do too much too poorly. Forgetting what got them there.

"resemble BMW in products and pricing."

Subprime loans on automobiles are a terrible idea for an uneducated consumer, but I think that subprime lending should be available to everyone. Everyone acts like banks are horrible predatory enterprises (and don't get me wrong, they do some stupid stuff) but at the end of the day, people are still signing the loan

Would this thing really fail so hard in America to not justify it? I understand a smaller volume company not justifying it - but this is the company that sells the Gran Coupe version of everything and the X-whatever we're making this week.
