On the other hand, if you saved up for fifteen years in order to buy a new Corvette with cash, it’s totally understandable to be upset that you are finally ready and you can’t buy one through no fault of your own.

Sony Driveman. You heard it here first.

The epiphany came before any city ordinance, and while I won’t get into details, I’ll just say that it was a deep disappointment. To recover from it, I’m focusing on fortifying my personal life and doing things that bring me genuine joy.

This is why I decided to sell some of my cars—they can get in the way of building

This went over everyones head

I’ve been saying this for years, other countries will lock own their borders so fast. But when we do it, people lose their minds. It doesn’t matter if the threat is COVID or criminals nor does it matter how low the risk is (the risk is still extremely low that healthy American tourists would “spread” COVID

So let me get this straight: it’s perfectly fine for migrants from Mexico and Central America to illegally come into the US, and private citizens who try to stop them are outlaws and racists, but when those noble Canadians do the same to illegal Americans, it’s the smart thing for them to do?

I’ve rented more Toyotas than you’ve owned GM’s, and I’m glad I stopped there: I will never, ever, own a Toyota.

Because touch screen!  Because fancy!  Because we don’t know how car interiors or driving work!  Because the laser eyeballs will do it, you don’t need to drive!  Autopilot!

LOL shitty quality? The tires last longer for which the manufacturer designed them. They were told to design tires that last for X, Y, and Z laps, and they did that. Notice how all the front lefts started to delam at the same time? That speaks to the consistency of the tires since we all know the drivers are very

Wow. You really don’t understand how racing works do you.

Exactly. FIA wants a high wear tire to increase the number of pit stops. The issue is the teams don’t want to stop and switch, they want to ride that fine edge to 100% wear. Maybe it’s because I grew up watching NASCAR before F1, but I enjoy what pit strategy brings to a race. I don’t see it as manufactured drama

You are incorrect, the tires are not built to a “shitty standard”. As someone who’s worked in a different professional series, I can tell you that if F1 is at all similar then the previous commenter provides a perfectly accurate depiction of the relationship between tire manufacturers and teams.

How are you quantifying the tires were made poorly v. the tires were designed to last no more than 149 miles and behaved as intended by the design. Drag tires are intended to last 1.5 miles - does that make them of shitty quality? If the argument is that F1 tires should last longer then that’s on the race organizer

Unfortunately, that is millions of acres of farmland that would be unproductive.  Farmers (and the lobby) will fight tooth and nail about tilling soil, it’d be virtually impossible to get something like this past a state house in any agricultural state.  And, to be honest, most of these roads see, maybe, dozens of

They have exactly the size brakes they’ve needed for the past 70 years.  What do you need brakes for when you’re entire purpose is to continually go fast.  The brakes weren’t made to slow you down for a corner.

Regarding the A/C... given this is a 1994 model year car, that means the AC system likely uses the R134A. And THAT means that even if the AC system needs service, it’s unlikely to need a complete upgrade/replacement which would be far more expensive.

I knew it wouldn’t take long before we saw Godwin’s law in action.

Plainclothes officers arrest people each and every day.  This isn’t new or different.  Now everyone has a cellphone with a video camera and we have social media populated by a bunch of bored progressives eager to be outraged over something (anything!).

They violated her Constitutional Rights. They were wearing plain clothes, driving an unmarked van, refused to identify themselves and didn’t read her her Miranda Rights.

Plainclothes officers arrest people every day.  Furthermore, they don’t have to read the subject their rights immediately.  They absolutely won’t do so in the midst of a riot, for their safety and the safety of the subject.
