In many respects this shows exactly why sedans are dying. This Camry is a perfectly good car for 90% of the US population needs. You can get anywhere you need to go, carry everything you need to carry, etc with a Camry AWD. And it will do it inoffensively for an offensive amount of time.

I think I remember reading somewhere that the import of Holden vehicles to the USA was purely out of contractual obligation to their Australian operations. GM wasn’t completely interested in importing, re-badging and federalizing Australian-built cars, so they did minimal to no advertising.

But, they’re going to ban dino juice, so all their other sins are forgiven.

Singapore doesn’t have poor people? woah woah woah woah woah. Yeah, the US wouldn’t have poor people either if we went around an executed all of them and our happiness would be better if all our statistics were government owned, run, and manipulated.

GM is actually pulling out of Australia entirely according to other articles. Building RHD variants for a small region apparently isn’t worth it financially.

GM’s official statement announcing the shut down of Holden basically points the finger at globalization and the company’s own insatiable thirst for fat margins and big profits”

Is it bad that I’m more curious about the machine that can measure than power than the one that creates it?

Looking at Cadillac’s history over the last ten or so years, their design team would create an absolutely drop-dead gorgeous concept off the C8, generate a shit ton of positive press, have people clamoring for Cadillac to build it, and then put a face-lifted XT4 into production instead.

My question is... is it really a hill worth dying on, and does it reflect people’s opinion of the president more than people’s opinion of the plane?

The question is... if a popular democrat party president were suggesting this very same livery, would ANYONE be complaining about it?

I cant believe you wrote all those words to bitch about Airforce One being painted red white and blue.  I’m honestly amazed.  Golf clap for you.  I needed the chuckle after a full work day.

There is a point at which “hike the premiums” becomes “can’t afford insurance, drives anyway”. Because for many people driving is required. And the cost of app-taxis is prohibitive for most.  And public transit is often not available.

Already happens in that premiums are reduced for drivers who don’t crash.

Lol! You think they will just replace the lower tiers? Let’s see how enthusiastic you are about this when it’s you who aren’t given a choice whether to drive. I think you’ll find giving up someone else’s freedom is easier than your own.

May be where you’re from. I’ve lived in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas and the private school pick up lines are littered with Escalades.

I’m glad I’m not the only person who’s noticed this.  I tend to chalk it up to the Caddy interiors being competitive with what’s around at the time of their release, but falling behind whatever comes out next.  But isn’t that true of pretty much all cars?  You don’t see people making the same comments about the

The “stealth” wealth is also why the GMC Denali exists, it costs get up there into Cadillac territory but without the bling branding

Everything you wrote about what Cadillac should be sums up the Escalade.

My point was actually about how the interior is used as a talking point by the journalists covering it.

I don’t know.  Based on what we usually see with French labor protests, they’re more likely to take him hostage, hold him for like half a day, then release him to a small concession like an extra ply on the bathroom toilet paper before they all casually make plans to do it again in a couple weeks.
