May be where you’re from. I’ve lived in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas and the private school pick up lines are littered with Escalades.

I’m glad I’m not the only person who’s noticed this.  I tend to chalk it up to the Caddy interiors being competitive with what’s around at the time of their release, but falling behind whatever comes out next.  But isn’t that true of pretty much all cars?  You don’t see people making the same comments about the

The “stealth” wealth is also why the GMC Denali exists, it costs get up there into Cadillac territory but without the bling branding

Everything you wrote about what Cadillac should be sums up the Escalade.

My point was actually about how the interior is used as a talking point by the journalists covering it.

Sawbones podcast also points out that fatality rates trend higher in the early days of an outbreak like this because the only people we are certain have novel coronavirus are the ones in a position to be tested because they’re sick enough to be hospitalized. Plenty of people may have been shaking this off like a

I don’t know.  Based on what we usually see with French labor protests, they’re more likely to take him hostage, hold him for like half a day, then release him to a small concession like an extra ply on the bathroom toilet paper before they all casually make plans to do it again in a couple weeks.

Yeah I started looking at C5 and C6 Z06's and just couldn't get over the interior. Then recently started considering an EV and saw actual (non marketing) images of the Model 3 interior and it looks even worse.

The C6 Z06 was on Cup 2s, had a much more hardcore suspension setup and carbon-ceramic brakes... it was also 3,100 lbs. That thing held lap records on a few tracks for a few years. I think a base Vette getting close is impressive.

Correction; if you aren’t using 100% of your tires’ grip through a combination of accelerating, braking, and turning, you’re doing it wrong.

Also, the 4 top selling SUVs in the US are the... RAV4, CRV, Rogue and Equinox.

“in a market that can’t get enough of big and stupid SUVs."

I think you are absolutely correct (any current Ferarri owner will want one of these because they will think they can drive it to more places and show it off more often than they do their current Ferarri) but the reason the Macan’s are everywhere is because they are the cheapest way to get a Porsche badge on your VW

Wait, so you are mad that now everyone does what you do? Classic.

“...create an SUV nobody (who cant afford it) wants...”

This is pretty much true for “civilization” as a whole

“...create an SUV nobody wants...”

I’m kinda amazed they tried that twice, since Ford had already gotten rather peeved at them calling an F1 car the F150 a few years before.

Most people don’t want a fun car though, they just want a comfy couch to sit on while they crawl through traffic to and from their jobs, plus enough space for the kids, kid-related gear, and groceries. Also, they want it to be reliable and not cost a boatload to operate.
