This isn’t new and has been going on for a long time, keep in mind some of the classes of wines we drink now were classified in other periods of abnormal climate. Changing varietals is something that was common then froze as we started to commoditiise wine more broadly.

I have a mid-sized sedan, and my factory brake rotors are bigger than 15". Actually, I can’t run smaller than 18" wheels on my car because of that. Plus, they would look stupid. Two other cars owned by Iacocca were sold at the auction: an 86 Chrysler LeBaron Town & Country convertible and an 09 Ford Mustang Iacocca 45th Anniversary Edition.
So you think that governments address only one problem at a time?
You’ve paid precisely zero attention to this issue and how the EU had been addressing it in the context of reducing electronic waste. But carry on.
Usually that way standards work is that you don’t force anyone to buy or make only a certain product, you just specify how that product should be made to meet the standard, and let consumers choose from there.
The OBD diagnostic system in automobiles and even micro USB in phones were the direct result of regulations pushing industry to standardize and reduce waste.
