Most people in this discussion seem to think the break0in period is for the engine only, but from my talks with GM engineers in the past it goes far beyond that. I was told that the break-in period was more for the transmission and driveline rather than the engine.

You can’t say that they have shit for brakes since the brakes are just fine for the normal application. A normal NASCAR race is about maintaining speed and staying in traffic and does not include a lot of change in speeds. Running larger brakes than needed just adds more weight to the car.

The V12 in a car like that isn’t meant for absolute peak power. It is for a flat torque curve for even, consistent power delivery while the V12 naturally operates with minimal NVH.

Camaro has the lowest entry price for a V8 with the LT1 (not to be confused with 1LT) model which starts at $34,995. Mustang GT starts at $35,880.

Considering that Ford regularly sells 250-300k per year, I don’t see it going away soon.  It is still the “pedestrian” CUV of the lineup.
