I think that stigma of the automakers is what shows the difference of demand. GM is known as the dinosaur that is slow to change, slow to innovate, and is part of the “establishment”. Tesla is known as the game changer which is quick to innovate and is the challenger to the “establishment”.
There is truth in those…
I was trying to highlight people’s ignorance.
There are already videos on Youtube of the new ZL1 10 speed automatic. The car shifts amazingly quick.

The buyers aren't necessarily buying them with fuel efficiency in mind, but the manufacturer does have CAFE restrictions to work within. The customer isn't always too happy with a gas guzzler tax.
I actually have a 2013 ZL1 with a manual transmission, and I have no problems with the car being offered in Automatic. I haven't driven an automatic ZL1 ,but a friend of mine that races had access to one for a while and had nothing but high praises for it.
It is still offered with a manual transmission, so why is it a shame that it is offered with an automatic? I bought my last car with a manual, but I don’t understand the hate for cars even having automatic option. The automatics of today are far removed from the 2 and 3 speed versions of yesteryear. They in many cases…
You are trying to nitpick my argument. Using your argument, users expect the Autopilot to take an initial input which is the input to enable the system. Likewise, the automatic transmission requires an initial input. Do you want to go forward (D), backwards (R), or Park?
That is the formal FAA definition. However, you have to design and market to the lowest common denominator, think of Jeep Grand Cherokee shifter knobs. If you pick a random person off the street and ask them what Autopilot in a car means to them they will most likely say that the car completely drives itself.
That's a turbo, bro.
I would actually get very miffed even if it was the 2000 Honda Accord that I drive into work.
That business model does exist in the form of junkyards. However, why buy "good" cars when there are enough "bad" cars to buy for a fraction of the price. I think your average mileage is a bit off as well. I currently DD a 2000 Accord with 239k on the odometer. The car was built in August of 1999 which means it has…
Fuck the Eagles.
That issue was fixed for the latest model Camaro. All it takes is a single button press with no prep. In fact, I believe that you can even do it from the keyfob. I am pretty sure I can recall Todd Christensen opening the convertible top without even being in the car at Camaro 5 fest in Bowling Green last summer.
The RS has always been an appearance only package.
A Cruze hatchback is coming.
Pun intended?
Touche. I am really curious about the V6 1LE that is coming out. I currently have a ZL1, but I came back very impressed with a rental V6 that I had for a few days. It is a very capable car that would really shine with a nicer suspension. I wouldn't trade in the ZL1 however.
They will be making that car. It will be the SS 1LE.
I have owned my ZL1 for a little over 3 1/2 years, and I still get giddy every time I start it up.
