Probably Capullo's cover for Batman 39. But, in a very different direction, any of Darwyn Cooke's cover variant work would also be acceptable. Any of it.

Good to know! I loved Abnett and Lanning's old Guardians stuff, though it's never been entirely clear what the creative split on that work was.
I definitely enjoyed Parker's run as much if not more than Johns'. I thought Abnett's little arc pre-Rebirth was decent, so I'm interested to see how he builds on that, this zero issue aside.
I think people enjoyed the Johns stuff from the early New52 a lot, and this was an attempt to return to that that maybe went too far from callback to echo.
Tynion's take on Clayface really intrigues me. It was a great first issue.
Got all of them, left my thoughts below or above, wherever this winds up. I think the general quality of this relaunch so far is fairly high compared to DC's previous attempts. And that $2.99 price tag is very very helpful.
Rebirth!
I actually just read that comic last night myself in the Adams omnibus! It was so very weird, but also very indicative of the ping ponging tone I think Denny mastered during that period. It also featured some of his personal hang-ups, like the minimization of comic book creation as a job, when costumed Thor laughs at…
I listen to iFanboy every week, and that's about it. They can get a bit cranky at times, but no worse than any thread on here. But they have a great chemistry from long years of working together and being friends, and they have a clear love for the medium.
Ah! How could I overlook this one.
I did really like Jurgens' Lois and Clark mini-series, but it came to a bit of a whimper of an ending, and I've very much NOT liked some other Jurgens work.
For Superhero comics? New Frontier. EDIT: Oh, also Thor, The Mighty Avenger by Roger Langridge and Chris Samnee.
I will always say Saga here, as I have some evidence that it can actually get people into comics from some friends who chose Volume 1 for a regular book club last December and who have been trading around my further volumes ever since.
I was surprised by the reference to Emiko! I read the Lemire Green Arrow stuff so I recalled that she existed, but I assumed she'd be Rebirth-ed away.
Having only 20 pages instead of 22 really does make a difference, I think.
As someone who hasn't read much pre-New52 Superman outside of the major events and non-canon sources (All-Star, Secret Identity), you're not wrong.
Let me know what you think on those two! They may be a contender for an eventual Valiant sale for me, but I'm taking a break from the one-month-delay read soon.
Valiant just isn't attracting much mainstream coverage. I have to say, after X-O Manowar ends at 50 in the next few months, I'm dropping everything but Bloodshot to save some money. That said, Imperium has been consistently above average, and I particularly love the AI character Sunlight on Snow. Reading Imperium…
Rebirth! All of it!
Look, if someone asked you what Batman v. Superman needed more of, and you said "Deadwood," would you really be wrong?
