Good to know! I liked his ending to the Wheel of Time series (I was committed, I had to finish it) as well as his YA novel Steelheart well enough. But nice to hear that things pick up beyond the seemingly inevitable set-up.

Huh. Well, that's certainly a thing, isn't it?
If you want more Superior Foes feeling stuff, pick up his new Ant-man run. He and Lieber are re-teaming for an Image book called The Fix at some point in the near future as well.
Plenty of ongoings, but I'm also trying to read (and sometimes re-read) through modern Batman. I'm in the middle of Morrison's Batman & Robin run now. It's still very strong, and all the stuff with Oberon Sexton reads very differently when you know how things end up with him. I also read some of Dini's Detective…
Working through Brandon Sanderson's Way of Kings right now. Some of it is paced a little slowly for my taste, but it all came highly recommended from my fantasy-reading friends around these parts.
I really enjoyed the Autumnlands. It feels very unique with its painted storybook style opening pages and myth- and world-building. Great price for that first volume too.
I second this. Batgirl and Robin Year One are both some of Dixon's best stuff, in large part due to Pulido's and Martin's art.
Well, if your problem with the book is simply that Babs was de-aged, then sure, I can't say much in argument there. And certainly I agree that given they've gone back to stories similar in tone to BQM's, the reasoning for nixing Oracle as a character was probably a poor one, all in all.
Sonic the Hedgehog comics were also my entry point when I was a kid. That and those Disney Adventures digests in the checkout lane.
Not a reboot. Last month they basically did a sort of clean slate publishing initiative. Half their line is "new" books with more diversity encouraged for both characters and creators. All pre-existing books like Justice League started new arcs in June as well. It's been a fairly good start I think, but all the stuff…
I generally find the AV Club's comics community to be one of the best on the net, and I certainly hope they'll bear out that view in this regard as well.
For New 52 stuff leading into the post-Convergence relaunch… any specific stuff you like? Johns' Justice League still sets the universal tone, I think, so maybe focus there. His Forever Evil was fairly fun, if a bit unevenly paced. Justice League since then has been very good (#31 onward), I've thought.
Do not. Unless you are incredibly attached to old (e.g. pre-Flashpoint, 90s, 80s, etc.) continuity, it's not a crossover so much as a "band-aid" for their two months of editorial upheaval during the move to the West Coast.
Asking the tough questions.
I still need to read Bryan Q. Miller's Batgirl (which I expect I'll enjoy), and while I know people are upset it was cancelled to bring back Babs, I don't personally consider the former as a strike against the latter. A lot of Barbara's own character in the new volume informs her new Burnside status quo, mostly…
Loeb's follow-up to The Long Halloween is enjoyable: Dark Victory. Beyond that, Snyder's current run is very love it or leave it. I love it, but I know others on the AVClub who feel very differently. However, most people enjoy The Black Mirror, which was Snyder's first turn at bat, with Dick Grayson in the cowl after…
Completely agree. I have been telling fans of the Flash TV show to grab Waid's Flash or Johns' early volumes as well. And for Arrow fans to grab Green Arrow: Year One or The Longbow Hunters. Just for something outside Batman and Superman (who are, of course, great).
I picked up Copperhead recently during Image's Comic-Con sale when I heard it described as "Deadwood in space." It's pretty great.
Scalped is finished. The second Deluxe Hardcover is due out soon, but it's otherwise out in trades or digital (or your local library!)
Helpfully, Vertigo is now putting out beautiful Deluxe Hardcovers of Scalped. I would also second Morning Glories.
