Used to live in Indianapolis. If you want to be really sick, tour the “museum” at the NCAA headquarters.

As someone employed by Duke (the hospital system, not the University, and I could not care less about the basketball team) I can say that even the people who live and die by how the Blue Devils perform, the ones I work with anyway, will admit that he’s full of shit when it comes to the whole amateurism and “we raise

I’m a barbarian. I just toast the muffin whole, unsliced, and put butter/jam/honey on top of it.

Fentanyl actually has some great applications in the acute setting (rapid pain relief/prophylaxis for minimally invasive surgeries, acute pain control in trauma, etc), and in chronic pain via extended release dermal patches (there are almost always better alternatives than the patches, though).

Thanks!

As someone who has the original game sitting on his shelf, unplayed - should I play the original one first, or can I jump into this one? (keeping in mind my play time is limited with a 2 year old running around and another on the way...)

Myke Cole: There is no such thing as an “accident” with a firearm. There are only two types of discharges: intentional, and negligent.

You mean the completely arbitrary and unregulated organic label? The organic label that, even if you follow the rules, still allows for “natural” (whatever that means) organophosphate pesticides?

Happens all the time in medicine with technical terms you’ve never heard spoken out loud. Heard a med student pronounce ascites (pronounced as-sci-tees) like “ass-kites”. One of my fellow trainees years ago pronounced atony (accent on the a) as “ay-Tony”, so of course for months we made fun of him and yelled “’Ey,

I did read the whole thing. The bullshit didn’t get better.

Exactly. I got about a third of the way into the post before I was like “this is some serious bullshit”. I question if the authors of the book are parents themselves (I’m guessing not since they say other families have told them this works).

You’re friends with Bill too?

I’m so, so sorry to hear about that.

Of course. Another reason (among many) that laws taking away choice or hamstringing doctors are ludicrous and evil.

As a physician, fuck these people.

I recently asked my two year old what his favorite part of the day was and he said “thinking about dinos” and I thought “yeah, that’s a pretty good day.”

It was! Sorry I misinterpreted your post as being derogatory. My bad.

Put it in context. That coloring book was only distributed as a protest of a Florida court ruling allowing distribution of religious texts to public school students without parental knowledge or consent. So if anyone objected to that coloring book then they should object to other texts being given out as well.

Was just about to post this!

Focusing on how “it only works 10% of the time” is entirely misleading. We should think of vaccines in terms of medications and “number needed to treat”, or NNT. If the vaccine works 10% of the time, then you have to treat 10 people to prevent the flu once. This seems low but for most preventive medicine it’s actually
