There are about 25,000 gun suicides and about 5,000 intentional drug overdose suicides each year. So congress is going after gun manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies next, right? Right?

I hear you, and don’t want to be argumentative, but if the hospital is telling you that then they’re blowing smoke. I’m a physician at a children’s hospital. The lifespan of an N95 isn’t just limited by the outside of the mask’s exposure to the environment, but also to the inside’s exposure to your face/skin/breath.

So less than a week’s worth, if people wear them like they’re supposed to? Cool. Just political theater, pretending to do something substantive. Should be 400 million BOXES of masks. That might make a difference.

I drive an I-Pace and love it. Shocked and disappointed it hasn’t done well. I do recognize that the styling is somewhat polarizing, but I personally think it’s a beautiful car...

Remind me again why we need dealerships?

One of these was my first car in high school. Loved that van. Took the middle bench out, could fit like 12 people in there and cruise to the Red River Gorge (not much else to do in central/eastern Kentucky).

The whole “you don’t get to know what your loot actually is or equip it until you get back to base” should have died an ugly death with Destiny/Anthem/etc. Why do people keep doing this...

I recently tried re-reading some Heinlein. It... did not go well.

As someone who has (and loves!) an I-Pace, Jag needs to keep it weird. Although it is different enough that I’m not surprised it’s not selling better...

Exactly. By the time I get home, have dinner with the family, put kids to bed, work out, and finish any necessary chores - it’s 10 o’clock. A required 2 hours-ish commitment is a non-starter for me.

Exactly. If I’m at a conference and a 20-something asks me to her bedroom FOR WHATEVER REASON the answer is “Fuck no.” This article is raw “both-sides” bullshit.

Ha, yeah I suppose I mis-typed for simplicity’s sake. The weights (a set of 25s and one adjustable dumbbell) I had prior to the pandemic, so that was lucky. The Peloton was bought right as the lockdowns were starting to happen. Bands and rack were after to round out what we already had. Was just easier to say I bought

As a physician, I’ll probably never set foot in a gym again. And fuck this dude.

I think some of it is COVID and not seeing each other for several months, so the change seems more pronounced.

In 6 months I’ve lost about 30 pounds through diet and exercise, but everyone where I work (a hospital) just thinks I have cancer.

Great article that I couldn’t even finish. As a physician and parent of a child with ASD, parents like these that subject their children to “treatments” like this just fill me with rage. I think of doing something like that to my own son and just want to cry.

Neutral: My coronavirus/mid-life crisis purchase was a new Jeep Gladiator and I regret nothing and absolutely love it - the kids love it too. Have wanted a truck for a long time and my wife (who I think was just sick of hearing me talk about it) said “just buy it already.”Being able to use it for outdoor trips,

Went in 6th grade as part of a class field trip. Was one of the highlights of my early education. Just donated, and encourage everyone who can to do likewise.

As a physician, I strongly feel that anyone wearing a white coat outside of very narrow IN-HOSPITAL circumstances is a raging asshole. White coat in public? You’re a menace to society.
