Today I learned that being paid enough that you can afford to raise a family and afford a home means your wages are “extravagant.”

Frankly, the circumstances were awful enough that I didn’t want to fill anything in.

I have watched two unions - UAW and Teamsters - put hundreds or thousands of people out of work rather than accept a smaller-than-requested raise.

So they’re doing their job, getting paid well for it and not giving their labor away to management. The employer is getting their labor at a reasonable price. Sounds like collective bargaining is working well for everyone here.

It’s like the Phanatic, but even worse.

I hate this district for giving us, essentially, a Republican vs. a Nazi in the general. They had Marie Newman to vote for in the Democratic primary and they freaking rejected her for fucking Lipinski.

Both of which will be the first to be submerged in the next decade or so.

My in-laws go to Cape May, just south of Wildwood, for a few days each summer. The contrast between old-school Victorian seaside town in Cape May and the FUN FUN FUN YOU MUST HAVE FUN of Wildwood just up the beach is kind of fascinating.
