Those were spare fuses, I hope you didn’t get rid of them!

I’m glad I’m not going crazy and other people see those fugazi lady bugs. My dad insists they are baby stink bugs, purely based on that he started seeing them around the same time the stink bug infestation started in New Jersey.
I had a shop teacher (wood shop) warn of de-gloving as well. He was wearing a ring while in the Army. Was told to jump off the back of the truck, he jumped, the ring and a good amount of his ring finger decided to stay on the grab handle on the truck.
In the past 7 years, I’ve had two cars do that (both belonged to Mrs. Dirte’). ‘86 BMW 528E and ‘07 Cooper S. 538E had the same failure as yours, threads were fine, it just puked the plug. Happened to her while driving down the Jersey Turnpike at about 70 mph. She called me in a panic saying it sounded like something…
Most definitely a bad idea to keep track of the money. I started doing that with my 1980 Z28, and quickly stopped once I saw the numbers start to add up.
I’ve heard the same about a lot of rare cars. Pony up the cash ahead of time, or else it’ll cost you way more in the long run.
Makes sense, nobody wants to write about “Car show goes well, all happy”
Thanks, I’ll have to see if there are any in the NJ area.
Sounds like a complete douche-nozzle. I would have headed straight for that Pantera, I want one of those so bad. Unfortunately, other people have caught onto the supercar looks with american v-8 parts availability and the prices seem to have gone way up.
Mrs Dirte’ has an aunt that has actually said the following: “I’m not gluton intolerant, I’m gluten conscious. I want to know when I’m eating gluten.”
Guy in my neighborhood has 2. I’m guessing one for parts, because I only see one of them on the road.
There’s a group of Corvair fans somewhere in the Southern NJ area. I only know this because I was in Cape May and watched a Corvair Wedding. It was pretty cool to see the different types on display.
My friend’s son just bought one as his first car. I took it for a spin, and thought to myself “If this was my first car it would have been wrapped around a tree.” Good thing that kid is the oldest soul I know, he is entirely too old-man like to get himself into trouble driving it.
Insight drivers remind me of the idiots who post “FIRST!” in the comments.
I was just talking about this car at lunch today with the guys I work with. One of them said he’d never seen one “alive” in the wild, only in a junkyard. I was lucky enough to go to high school with someone who had an SVX. This was back in 2002, love the looks of those cars. The transmission though, not so much.
Thanks, I’ll keep it all in mind! They did the tensioner maybe 18-24 months ago? She bought the car used back in the summer of 2012. So my guess is it was done early 2014.
Sounds like a definite way to go if it’s not worth the time to deal with the Porsche owners. I’d love to get a Porsche one day, but I think the Corvette calls to me more.
Yeah, I knew it needed a new tensioner so I bought one to install. Then she got the notice from the dealer that they were doing a service bulletin (I don’t think they actually called it a recall) on the tensioner. They checked the tensioner/chain, replaced the chain and installed the upgraded tensioner. Still consumes…
Ahh ok. Does not look like a MANN filter, so they must use a different manufacturer or different colored fabric for the OEM filter.
Ahh that reminds me of this bad boy. Now that my buddy is done upgrading his garage, I think it might be time to pick one up for him:
