It’s supposed to have LIDAR or similar sensors which detect obstacles in front of it - whether or not they’re illuminated. Part of the point of these autonomous vehicles is that they’re supposed to have better ways to detect potential problems than a human driver, and this shows that wasn’t the case.

Unavoidable my ass! Having found the video, if these self driving cars are supposed to have such sophisticated sensors it should totally have been able to detect her in time to avoid her, or at least make an attempt.

British law spells out that four-wheeled cars must have four tires.

Set aside the whole “is there / isn’t there” debate for a moment.

no no!

There’s no explanation on YouTube or Reddit about what exactly caused the incident

It’s cool

As a British Car Guy (tm) it upsets me when people spend this kind of time and money on the WRONG YEAR car.

“I tremble for my country when i think we may in fact get the kind of leaders we deserve”

i couldn’t help but chuckle that the 200-260 mph time (about 13 seconds) was faster than the 0-60 time (about 16 seconds)

You know, URLs are just as effective when you post them only once and not in allcaps.

I actually enjoyed the news segment because it was nothing but witty banter between hosts.

Too scripted, fake challenges (laser guns? you mean shitty fighter style HUD added with after effects), fake crowd laughing and cheering at every sentence and worse of all, no news segment.
