So much this. I’m convinced that most of the love for Mazda here is a result of older, long-gone cars, and parroting of what others say they are.

Nah, they’re still ridiculously loud. My (terrible) 2015 6 was deafening and the CX-5 I drove last year was a raucous celebration of wind-noise.
are we not talking about the elephant in the room? The new Mazda3 styling is...hard to stomach. I have seen a few around town and they catch my eye, but I don’t know if I can own one.
I agree, that’s why I don’t drive German cars.
I’ve owned one. Drove it 78,000 miles. Never had a problem. I kept up on oil changes and fills, pre-mixed, warmed it up properly every time I drove it, took it to redline every time I drive it (critical for Wankel health), and let it cool properly before shutting it off every time. I’ve owned four Mazda rotaries in…
But what if that package weighs over 5000 pounds? When it weighs as much as a F-350 or 3500 it’s just the stats of a much less useful 1-ton truck not a supercar.
You can train any dog to fuck people up. Stop stigmatizing pitties
These are notoriously overrated.
It’s also Americas ugliest pickup, so it’s got two things going for it.
You motherfuckers bitched incessantly about touch capacitive buttons/touchscreens like the ones on Cadillacs, you get real buttons, now you’re bitching about too many buttons. Make up your button mind.
Jalopnik: Cars these days have too many screens and not enough buttons!
I’m disappointed by the C8.R though. One of the best parts of a GT Class Corvette was you knew exactly when it thundered by. This one is higher pitched than the road cars... like the Ford GTs...
It develops the power at lower RPMs and with less stress on the components.
A larger engine works less hard to make the same power as a smaller one. = better durability, long term. This 7.3L will (should?) return relatively decent fuel economy while actually doing real work.
Stopping to help someone with a Yugo who has broken down would be like stopping to help someone with a Hummer H2 who has run out of gas.

My last roommate had searched high and low for a VW TDI Jetta and went through something similar. In his case their repairs resulted in oil showing up in the coolant overflow and broken rocker arms. They didn’t buy the carback until he lawyered up.
I’ve had to rent trucks to haul stuff a few times, and I’ve extensively driven my dad’s ‘08 ram (single cab short bed 4.7). The ‘15 F150 3.5tt I rented was excellent even in rental truck spec. My dad’s ram has a few quibbles and the interior is god awful, but overall lit drives perfectly fine and is comfortable enough…
