As I stated in the 300hp GTI vs Electric Golf article, it’s been found countless times that the Mk7 GTI makes around 220+whp stock with closer to 270wtq. It’s much closer to the Performance Pack N in power, and so far it seems like it’s still quicker.

I test drove the DSG and manual back to back, and it was no contest, I left with a DSG. The Mk7's manual completely lacks emotion and feeling.

I disagree. I went from a Fiesta ST to a GTI, and the GTI is stupid fun. The Fiesta got really old after year 2. Hopping into it for a test drive completely changed my opinion of the two. The ST is an unreliable, poorly built, crap can that can do fun somewhat well. The GTI is only boring in that it does everything so…

I got rid of my Fiesta ST for a new GTI, and the GTI is just as fun, but a significantly better place to be. I truly believe the hype for the ST was to try to encourage underdogs to try.

Since the current 220hp rated GTI tends to make 220whp, 300hp isn’t that far away. 

What’s fun is when it gets stuck and starts doing it at random when the car is off. I honestly forgot about that, and now I appreciated my GTI’s lack of noticeable chimes.

Most of the time it’s dark enough to it matter, but it blends a lot better in person. Plus, it has to have red accents.

It’s sad, on Mk7 Golf pages, everyone gets a hard on for grayscale colors, when you can get them in pretty fantastic colors. White Silver(seriously, the name is even boring) is not one of them.

I believed too much of the ST hivemind, This thing is just as fun.

I just didn’t enjoy the manual that much. It’s very direct, but it feels like a Logitech shifter more than a car’s.

I only have one fault with it, the sunroof shade. SE and above come standard with a sunroof, and the shade is mesh.
