There are a lot of characters, yes, but they're used well. It doesn't fall into clusterfuck territory (character-wise) in large part BECAUSE of the intro page.
While beautifully written, this article is more or less meaningless to the many people from my generation(including me) who simply don't listen to the radio. Much the same way that a vegetarian wouldn't care that "hamburgers aren't what they used to be" or something of that ilk.
Cowboy Ninja Viking isn't actually about those three types fighting each other (at least not in the way you might think). CNV is one guy… one crazy guy…
I had the pleasure of seeing the Locke & Key pilot at New York Comic Con this past October and it was fantastic. I followed the comic just enough while still managing to do some cool new things.
