I’ve driven an E60 BMW 520i with the 2.2 liter straight 6, and I own an E60 BMW 525d with a 2.5 liter turbodiesel engine. The diesel is faster, but the 520i is still the nicer engine. Smoother, and it sounds better. I only bought the diesel because it was cheaper.
