Here is a short thread from the forum I’m on discussing the prices (I’m Mölyapina). Once we go to house prices, we stay there, so don’t feel obliged to read past that point :D. There was somewhat of a short boom in diesel popularity in some areas, so there may be some higher-priced outliers out there, but for $90k,

Two crusaders come out of the woodwork, just like that :D.

I drive one a lot slower than a turbodiesel W123, probably a little faster than this one — a 240D with a turbo off of a 300D Turbo, but conservative tune on the fuel. It’s totally managable and will hold speed on the highway in good shape. It’s the ultimate “slow car fast”. It works fine for me, and I drive a lot in

Oh, and another point... if you check the price from any particular year, these cars went for more like $50k-65k... never $90k, that was S-Class territory. What fakes people out is that inflation was really sharp in those years, so punching a 1980 price into a 1977 inflation calculator can yield some wild results.

There is never a T for turbo... a 300D is designated as turbo or nonturbo by the trunk badge on the right side, which reads either “Diesel” or “Turbo Diesel”. A 300TD denotes a wagon, whereas a Mercedes has never been badged as 300DT, 300CDT, or 300TDT.

Haha, not a fan here either. Just struck me that that picture represented what an Evoque owner might well have to look forward to...

/sarcasm, right? ...starred.

You think you have problems when your steering wheel gets stuck in the down position... wait until the TOP does!

nary?

Detroit!

Sounds like a good deal, assume you snapped it up?

Yes. As well as a Ram SRT-1o, and that has heat...

I think this is the most overpriced thing I have seen on here in a while. Maybe a $10-15k car, but $35K?? Is he nuts?? For that price I at least want AC and heat...

After careful consideration, I support this measure.

You win story time :D. That sounds like a bad sitcom.

You may still run into trouble, though, since some states (such as Mass), require you to have all original safety equipment installed and working. That, and why would you want to delete it in the first place? Seems like a harmless driver aid...

I beg to differ. When you arrive in a W126, you have ARRIVED

YES! Absolutely.
