Yes, but mainstream cars were never really intended for enthusiasts to drive. What did we have before that? SUVs and midsize sedans. Not enthusiast choices. And before that? Minivans and sedans. Before that? Wagons and sedans, most of which were no less “boring” at the time than the Camry is now.

It’s a wonderful time to be a car enthusiast...

I think we heard a lot of that in the eighties, but I think we’re in a pretty bright period right now. There are so many nice, affordable, GOOD sports cars, like the WRX, Miata, FRS/BRZ, Focus/Fiesta ST, Porsche Cayman, Mustang, Corvette...
