i don’t understand the units because everything i use seems to use different ones between bits and bytes and who knows if they’re using 1000 or 1024 for kilo and who knows what for mega. i just tested my connection and it says 65.39 Mbps download and 4.06 up. in real life usage i can download things at at least 5MB/s

Mbps or MBps .. i guess i meant MBps, but i used the unit from the charts in the article

i can agree with you on that!

that’s where i am now too. but i’ve lived in MD, KS, and CO and it’s always been plenty fast for me.

i don’t even know what i’d do with more than 5Mbps. how much more porn could i need?

i watched Trading Places last night ... it may have had a small effect

yeah, after some investigation i think i was really thinking of a three's company episode where Jack goes camping.

maybe someone should buy up all this cheap plastic and hold on to it until the market improves

i thought there was a simpson's scene with homer getting attacked by a hammock, but i may have imagined it

Now playing

thank you for this. the only thing hammocks are good for is kids to hurt each other on. also, people have hated hammocks since at least 1951...

so you've got a foam mold and start putting carbon fiber and resin around it. do you just leave the foam in there?

this was pretty much my idea, except i say the person that scores the touchdown should have to take the kick. or the team can go for two i guess. i think it'd be hilarious to see some of these players trying to kick the ball. it'd also make some interesting new things to think about on scoring plays.

i didn't go to journalism school. but if the headline is "it's not my job to plug things in" and the actual quote is "it is not in her job description to plug things in." and is referenced in the first segment of the article ... something seems wrong

or just use a pot lid like every one since 1935

"Engineers have experimented with using sonic waves to douse flames for years—but it took a pair of students to turn the concept into an affordable, hand-held device."

maybe these electrical engineers should have a chat with some fire protection engineers. or maybe try putting out something bigger than a birthday candle before talking about drones putting out forest fires. could a drone even fly over a forest fire?

maybe not on a flatbed. a time-lapse photo would do the trick though! i bet someone has already done it ...

in an digital art class i took back in college the teacher had us experiment with moving objects on a flatbed scanner. the results were .. passably interesting

that isn't e-voting. that's paper voting with electronic backup. sounds like a reasonable idea to me, but i'm no expert.
