Look no further, Ford Econoline E-350 4x4 with the 7.3 liter diesel. Simply add a small lift for those tough spots, some solid all-terrain tires, a roof tent, interior storage, toilet, bed, etc... let your imagination go wild. Consider it a blank slate for whatever adventures you may encounter in the future. This one

I am generally disappointed in the lack of recommendations for the Jeep Cherokee XJ. Modest fuel economy, go anywhere capability, rock solid everything, it won’t leave you stranded. Plus you can get a really nice one for around $3,000-$5,000 and save the rest for supplies and some upgrades.

I mean to be fair in her introduction vs. Mike Skinner’s she was regarded as the best driver they could find. While he was just a big fat joke... The only thing I really care about is that they didn’t retest the times for all the cars Skinner drove, because science.

Ranger is the only one here that is actually easy to learn stick on... the thing about the shifter in those 80s muscle cars is that the throws are huge the clutch is random, and are more sensitive cars. I would honestly say a Civic would not be a bad purchase, neither would a Miata, or an E30 if you can find one, if

Has anyone ever taken Consumer Reports seriously?

Well technically to get some valid results you’d only need a sample size of 30 cars. Then just submit those 30 cars to the same tests in the same environment over and over again, and then measure reliability. But then again it isn’t an easy test to conduct since most drivers do not drive 24/7 and cars tend to be more

$15,000 and under... look at hatchbacks, Ford Fiesta ST, Focus ST, GTI, Abarth, Cooper S, Veloster(if you are into that), WRX...

Nothing.

They go equally crazy in some countries over American cars... but I don’t think people are going to line up to buy these cars to be “French,” I have a 500 Abarth, I explain to all who enter my car, it is an Italian design, built by Mexicans, and sold by Americans to Americans. It sounds like a recipe for disaster...

I live off of I-95 in CT inbetween the casinos and NYC and these buses become quite the nuisance on the highway... one of the incidents above happened during a snowstorm while I was trying to get to work, saw the accident happen in my rear view mirror, pulled over, heard approaching sirens and moved on.

I never would of expected a heavy AWD car to oversteer into a ditch on small two lane country road, while going three times over the speed limit.

I can second this, have even put a surf board in mine.

Interesting options, especially the Contour SVT, such a forgotten hero.

These were the least fun options you could even give anyone, ever, EVER.

I am a little late to the argument but, the Abarth can be just as practical as a Fiesta ST unless every single day you go out with three other people, one being a baby needing a stroller, and need to transport massive loads of groceries. Making the argument that any one car is more practical then the other is only

Buy it right now.

Sure, both points are valid. Again I would say it is more likely an enthusiast is going to own an enthusiast car then not, that does not mean you need a particular car to be considered an enthusiast. Some times people may be knowledgeable about cars, but may not be an enthusiast. One of my local mechanics, who

To be honest it is hard to tell what his definition of fun is... so 4WD/AWD makes me think off roading. But personally off roading is more of a cheap car thing... I don’t recommend buying a newer $20-$25,000 off road toy. Something will break. So here is my alternative.

Yes, but it is a big if... my girlfriend has a somewhat normal car 2010 Mazda3, it is more likely for her to not be an enthusiast then to be one. A Saturn LS-2? Is a very normal car, the only part of that car that isn’t regular is its name... but it will never be a car of any value. Maybe if any Saturn the Sky? In a

Just going off of the looks of that van, I would say you’re an enthusiast as you have put effort into it. Not many none car enthusiast drive the one of the only mini vans with a manual transmission and AWD, or put bull bars on them. Someone who would own a van similar to yours and not care for it, modify it... and so
