Yes, abortion is currently pretty much illegal here in Ireland (although we’re trying to change that). It’s completely wrong to say that birth control is heavily restricted though?! Condoms are available in all pharmacies and supermarkets, pub toilets, etc. The morning-after pill is available without prescription from

Her accent was one of the worst attempts at any accent I’ve ever heard in my life. It was so bad that I’m not even sure which accent she was hoping to convey.

Have some nice buttery toast and a cup of tea and you’ll be grand.

Only alright though, and anything would sound passable next to Cecily’s Geordie/Scottish/Northern Irish/Scouse/Essex chav mash-up. Emily Blunt is a great actress, I would have expected much more from her. But she mainly plays upper-middle class and upper class characters so maybe that’s her forte.

Kerrygold is salted in Ireland though?

Lurpak is just about step up from margarine, so not much competition. Anchor and Country Life are New Zealand and U.K. butters I believe? They’re not generally sold here in Ireland so I can’t comment on them. We have access to mainly Irish butters, mainstream ones like Kerrygold and supermarket own-brand butteralikes

Kerrygold is highly regarded by chefs.

Kerrygold isn’t fancy (price or presentation-wise) but it is very good. It’s by far the best-selling butter in Ireland and we bloody well love butter here. We even have a butter museum here, its serious business.

That’s interesting! Country girls are often formidable!

That is impressive, wow! I’m the inverse, max deadlift of 175kg (385lb) and a squat of 120kg (264lb). Long arms and short torso help the deadlift. Long thighs and short torso make heavy squatting tough for me. That’s my excuse and I will cling to it to death!!

I’m Irish and I’m going to side with my neighbours here, it was cringey and way off the mark.

I think being from peasant stock is certainly an advantage! That and being stubborn, which may or may not originate from the peasant ancestry also.

I think social conditioning and training environment are both huge factors in many women’s perception of what’s possible for them, strength-wise. I’m in Ireland (hence the kgs, sorry lbs melt my brain!) and I often wonder if the larger percentage of people from agriculture and rural backgrounds means Irish women have

Ok, bench pressing your body weight as a woman is not that hard. I’m crap at bench pressing (long arms are my lame excuse) and managed to press 70kg (my bw) within 6 months of 2x per week bench training. I did a little bit of amateur drug-free powerlifting and know at least 10 women who bench press 1.5 times their
