If your idea of basic sense involves "always wear a condom", it's definitely not something you're born with :/

"Basic sense" is something you're taught, it's not something you're born with.
I have serious qualms with calling this plot twist justified. Or sane. Or parsable by anyone not from a non-Euclidean universe >_>
People don't like spider-girl's booty because it is a part of a larger trend of sexualizing women in superhero comics, in a way that men are not.
I am saying that is a stupid thing to say because of A) the nature of the reference, which almost no one actually playing the game (children) would get and B) that the nature of the man's death is irrelevant compared to his life
My point was that it was stupid to talk about ESRB ratings and appropriateness when naming a character something as simple as "Robin" would A) not in any way affect the family-friendliness of the title inherently
Smart "phone". Or cell phone, mobile phone, just "phone", etc.
Just out of curiosity, when you use ellipses, what do you mean to signify by them? I think it's pretty commonly accepted to indicate hesitation or censoring, but you seem to use them to completely replace punctuation. It's a habit some people have, I'm kind of wondering where it comes from.
Just curious, since you haven't mentioned what your method is, how many well known sci-fi movies over the past few decades are actually considered sci-fi according to it? It seems like there'd be very few
So yes, most of what people consider Science Fiction in movies would actually be Fantasy.
That's all true, but if you're going to hard-line plausibilities like that you pretty much relegate all soft sci-fi to fantasy. Are the xenomorphs in the Alien franchise really all that much more realistic than a zombie virus? From a few inches to eight feet in a matter of hours, insanely strong acid for blood,…
Yeah, the original Living Dead trilogy made a lot of allusions to Hoodoo, especially with that quote, but that's more of a poetic thing than a cause. The only clues we get about the origin of the outbreak was a radio broadcast that talked about the Venus probe, and I think Shaun of the Dead had something very similar. …
Zombie movies are generally considered sci-fi aren't they? They started out with "strange radiation" from Venus in Night of the Living Dead, and has almost universally been caused by disease in the later years, often bio-engineered.
I haven't seen any of the movies, I'm afraid >_> just the show. But from what I gather, they seem very different in tone.
I guess I can agree that TNG was never very good at the whole "badass" thing. Then again, their villains never really seemed to aim for anything but "arrogant" and/or "condescending".
But Q was supposed to be a mischievous trickster god, not a badass >_>
Yeeeeeah, I'm not really saying that calling them out on their bullshit is the same as refuting it. I'm saying that calling bullshit bullshit is a much more thrifty way to spend your energy than trying to engage someone who's obviously not looking for a good faith discussion. Leaves you more energy to engage someone…
I'd ask again how accusing them of lying remotely constructive, even if it's true, though.
I would have freaked out so hard. "I knew I should have gone to fucking Nineveh"
Where I live, the people who say they aren't feminists eat babies. I'm serious. They come up to me, tell me "I'm not a feminist", then reach into their bags and take out a whole, live baby. Their mouths distend to an unnatural degree, and they just pop the baby down their gullet. And this is a daily occurrence. I've…
