The problem with any discussion of TLJ is that it’s NOT an objectively bad movie. But it IS intentionally dismissive of the Star Wars cannon (even if we only look at Disney’s very abbreviated list of cannon sources).

I mean...other than maybe the Defender’s fight scene they didn’t go for spectacle scenes but writing and acting.
I actually think that scene from Riverdale deserves to be on the list. It’s probably the best acted and written scene of that show.
That is so interesting. I thought that scene was just so...okay. It all just seemed so contrived and all I could think about while watching it was how Doylist it all was and why the production was doing this and why they wanted to have the battle at this part of the season even though it didn’t make sense from an…
It has its moments...but yeah, it really is pretty bad.
I think it would HAVE to be one of the quieter moments.
GoT, as a series, is no longer considered “prestige” television.
My problem with this statement is that it presumes an objective standard that I just don’t think exists beyond a level of basic competence (which I think anyone would say the production team of this movie certainly met).
I’m not really sure I understand this thought process.
100% this.
I get your point here. And as someone who thinks that the national minimum wage is in dire need of a raise (and laws that allow many people in this country to still be paid BELLOW that minimum threshold should be abolished) I am sympathetic to the argument.
Sure—but that simply doesn’t work for their business model. If it did, Uber and Lyft wouldn’t be killing taxis.
I mean...the animals of Zootopia are TOTALLY fucking. To be honest, until I read this I didn’t even know that there was a question about that.
Hey—I’m not arguing. I’m pro-choice and believe a lack of will and understanding on climate change will likely kill us all.
It’s just bizarre that the President of the United States has such poor interpersonal communication skills that he can’t bring himself to have to ASK one of his four assistants for a diet coke. Like...that’s not rude or weird. They’ll have an intern run down and grab a coke for him if he just asks.
Thing is, I kind of disagree with that.
I’ll be honest—I don’t even get what the point of this was SUPPOSED to be according to Trump. Like...I get that he’s personally pro-Israel but he supposedly wants to be the President that “solves” the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Mmmm—sweet, sweet Republican Koolaid.
This is exactly what I was thinking, but expressed much more clearly.
Agreed. And I think what I like most about Section 31 is just that DS9 never tries to force an answer to the Sloan (or Sisko, really) vs Julian debate.
