I think you need to do some real number-crunching to see if a 3rd car actually makes sense. Even if you save wear and tear on another car and some incremental cost per gallon, an entirely extra car is a huge expenditure relative to those savings. You van even with fewer miles will continue depreciating.

Wish I could just do my job whenever I felt like it and get paid the same. I can’t think of any other profession that is the same.
