can’t it be both?

the gripe isn’t the device, the gripe is the story basically being a sales pitch for it.

I have no problem with an informative article about a device like this.

Maybe the next time a software exploit comes out they’ll provide helpful link to sites where people can get them and urge users to go get/use it before Apple/Google issues a security patch.

Or a watered down version of a McGuffin device Tom Cruise has to keep out of the hands of Spectre. (yes, I know what I did there)

There’s a difference between it being technically possible to build something that can be used maliciously, and making a device specifically for that to make it super easy for any idiot to do it, let alone a tech blog urging people to buy one while posting all the malicious things it can do and helpful link to places

The Flipper Zero is no more dangerous than a lockpick”

Yeah and we should also be allowed to carry dynamite and lighters on airplanes, because they’re basically the same thing right? And only bad if you use them maliciously!

Cops can “trap” you if they have a legal warrant. You’re talking obstruction of justice. Don’t see anywhere in the story where they said it can be used for that anyway... or any actual legal use. But they do give tons of examples and helpful links to illegal uses!

They didn’t say anything about unlocking a car. What they did say is “hacking” your car... meaning breaking the software in a way that is against the terms you agree to when you buy it. Don’t like the terms, don’t buy to begin with.

Yeah, but the article didn’t list ANY of that. That’s the point.

That’s it’s chief use!

“In what way does this article suggest you buy ,”hacking devices to use against others that they dislike.” Or even suggest malicious intent?”
