But isn’t that only to their own cars? People seem to think Tesla’s sales still scale up in line with the EV market as a whole, but with so many other players coming in and stealing share as it rises, that’s not even close to possible.

Seems like their market cap is buolt on the idea that they will always own a majority of the EV market as it continues to scale up, but that is at best unlikely, but realistically impossible. BYD is already kicking their butt in China and poised to all over the rest of the Asian region. All of the other automakers are

The plan for many is: work your way up as fast as possible, strap on a golden parachute, then jump!

But you also have to factor in their profit margin. If it’s pennies on the dollar this can still make a big difference. a 20% increase on 10-15% of cost is a 2-3% total cost increase. If you’re only making a 5-10% profit margin, that’s a big bite.

Just remember, there’s 3 sides to every story! In this case, maybe 30 sides!

“Unboxing an e-bike made by some company in India with BMW painted on it and a jacked up price to match”

Funny how they put “to protect and serve” on their cars, but they are not required to do either, and often don’t!

Maybe NP if it were a 60's car in that condition.

This had me rolling! What a joke to put that in the ad. Who’s going to be doing major restorative work on a car they’re trying to sell??

The dumbest thing about this ad is that the person is apparently actively working on the car as he’s trying to sell it? Gotta just be some dumb tactic to try to make potential buyers feel pressured to “get it at the lower price”.

The subsequent rental is the only thing that saved you, and honestly surprised they didn’t fight it more.

There are some crappy rental places in the world that are nothing like the nice rental centers and city center rental offices most are used to. I wouldn’t be surprised at all at this from my extensive car rental experience around the country.

Didn’t Musk once claim his cars can float?

Wasn’t there some comment from Musk that his cars will float for a while? I’d submit that with my claim against Tesla.

PHEVs are all that most people really need anyway. Just like how most people who “need” to have trucks would be better off with a minivan from a functional perspective.

Because of course an Ultima would be involved.

Man, that’s a throwback!

well for the price it is a large SUV with a 3rd row, so from that standpoint it’s not too pricey. And 300 mile range from a brick is pretty impressive.

Our country has a long and distinguished history of president looking dumb on plane steps.
