Clearly people want EVs. And if US automakers won’t provide, foreign automakers will. But we know the lemming have no problem following Trump over the cliff and doing everything they can to kill their own jobs for him.

I really don’t see a downside to the current government plans for EVs. It will boost car sales, and the requirements around the tax incentives will boost domestic production. I’d like to hear how Trump thinks it’s hurting the US, if he can be bothered to give any real reasons.

A push from the government to drastically increase the number of BEVs on the road combined with tax incentive would boost car sales and create more jobs in theory. And as was also mentioned, but tax incentives are based on US soil production, so it would theoretically bring more jobs back to the US as well.
