The biggest factors in any vinyl setup are the cartridge and the speakers, especially the speakers. The turntable makes very little difference so long as it’s accurate and doesn’t have dramatic wow or flutter.

I believe the SL1200 is a direct drive motor while the LP120 is a belt drive. The LP120 is mostly plastic and has some issues with the built in preamp.
