Yeah, no. Prices have gone up and there are lines everywhere for gas. You can stop with your whole “free market, let people be gouged” argument. People are buying gas regardless of price and gas stations are frequently out.

Texas resident here. Nobody is filling up their cars in fear of paying an extra $5 per fill up. People are filling up because gas is getting impossible to find. I would gladly pay 2008 prices for gas right now.

As someone in the harvey aftermath, and as a message to all the people filling up multiple containers of gas. Stop. Just fill up your tank and try not to go places you dont need to go for a while. save some for the rest of us cause i doubt you can get gas out of the trash can you used to fill up anyways.

Near as I can tell, about 1000 people attempt it and 500 succeed every year. Over 100 people have died on Mount Everest since 2006, including 6 this year. That is a around 10% mortality rate among all people who try. Maybe K2 is harder, but I think you and I have a different definition of “novelty.”
