He voluntarily gave them up because he realized Reed could do more good with them.

Superior was probably the only great thing Slott has ever done.

OK, OK, yes, the act of Peter dying and Doc Ock taking over his body sucked, but “Superior Spider-man” actually is a really good arc. It expanded Doc Ock from what he’d been stuck as for years, and it gave Peter Parker a chance to shine. The arc ended with Ock admitting that Peter was the best Spider-man. Peter came

I can’t think of a worse writer for this. Dan Slott ruined Spider-Man for me with Superior. Otto taking over Peter’s body is the 2nd worst thing ever in the history of Spider-Man. It’s gross and awful and completely shits on the character. Slott seemed incapable of understanding what Spider-Man was about so he kept

To me, this flies in the face of what made the first movie great, which is that it’s one of the most inspirational movies ever made. Pacific Rim is a WWII giant monster movie where if people can just work together, they can cancel the apocalypse. I know the threat had to come back in some way for a sequel to work, but

Eh, if what you liked about them is that they were faster, then I suspect they wouldn’t really hit with me—a huge part of why I liked Pacific Rim’s mech fights so much is precisely that they felt, well, slow and heavy.

... I’m confused. The point is that it’s shitty that they took the woman lead from the last film and fridged her for the sake of a dude’s character arc. None of that contradicts with what you’re saying—the fact that they gave Mako a small supporting role and killed her off to motivate a dude, giving not one shit about

Really? I thought the first Pacific Rim’s action scenes were some of the best I’ve ever seen in a movie—the fights in, and just off the coast of, Hong Kong in particular, were absolutely incredible, from the way the Jaegers and Kaiju move and are choreographed, to the lighting and use of the surrounding environment.

If they do a third one and get Hunnam back, maybe they’ll retcon this and bring Mako back. I don’t know how anyone involved thought killing her was a good idea, especially in such a cheap, fridging way.

I lost interest in seeing this when I found out Mako died early and pointlessly.

yeah, that stopped me dead in my tracks too.

Yeah, it’s a weird future world where homebrewed Jaegers are apparently as common as Raspberry Pis and full sized Jaegers are used by the cops.

‘ a scrappy teen who managed to build her own Jaeger’

Wait so Mephisto didn’t offer to cure her in exchange for erasing her love?

this whole arc was riddled with inconsistencies, it was nice to see Janes character development but there were a ton of moments that left me scratching my head in confusion.

SFW? In a month, she’ll be back. It is the Marvel Way.

Mangog, as opposed to Magog? This just keeps getting more confusing. Does he also square off against Captain Marvel?

I’m just going to say: A trip into the Sun shouldn’t destroy Mjolnir, based on its past feats...
